Humble Presence

To see through the eyes of love is to be present.

To feel the caress of love upon your fingertips

Holding the beloved in your heart is to be present.

To speak the unspeakable written on the winds of time

And hear the echoes of angels in all who surround you

Is to be present.

To know that you are and you are not

And everything that ever was is or will be

Is within and without

Is to be present.

To kneel at the feet of a beggar

And then to kiss those same feet

Is humble presence.
